Packard Health 2008 Needs Assessment

In 2008, Melissa Valerio, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor at the School of Public Health's Center for Managing Chronic Disease at the University of Michigan, conducted a series of focus group evaluations with 102 Packard Health patients to assess their satisfaction with the clinic. These are the key findings from the evaluations.

Why Choose Packard Health?

  • Packard Health had available appointments for care within a short period of time
  • The staff was pleasant and respectful, and patients felt they were treated fairly whether or not they were insured
  • Packard Health's location is easy to find and access
  • Packard Health was recommended by family, friends, and other community members
  • Patients were attracted by the clinic's history in the Washtenaw County community and by personal interactions with the clinic's founding physician and Executive Director
  • Patients had a sense of being cared for by "family" at Packard Health

Generally, survey participants cited Packard Health's mission of health care service to all community members and positive referrals from other patients as the principal reasons for seeking care at Packard Health.
