What if I have to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
If you cannot keep your appointment, please call us to cancel 24 hours in advance, or with as much notice as possible, so that we can offer that time to another patient. Repeated missed appointments, especially without cancelling in advance, may affect your health and your relationship with Packard Health. Patients may be charged for missed appointments or dismissed from the practice for repeated missed appointments.
How long will I have to wait for an appointment?
It depends on your needs and preferences. For routine matters such as annual physical exams, regular follow-up, wellness checks, and prescription renewals, we ask that you schedule several weeks in advance when at all possible. For more urgent needs, such as treatment of an illness or injury, we offer same-day appointments, which become available for booking when we open at 8:00 AM on the day of the appointment. These appointments are first-come, first-served, and they are often filled quickly.
I’m really sick and need to see someone right away, but there aren’t any open appointments.
If you call Packard Health to schedule a same-day appointment and there are none available, ask to speak to the Triage Nurse. She will learn more about your symptoms and can consult with your provider if needed. Depending on the circumstances, she may be able to find a spot on the schedule for you, or arrange for other treatment. In some acute cases, she may also encourage you to visit an urgent care center or emergency room. If you are experiencing particularly severe illness or pain, you should call 911 or visit an emergency room even if you haven’t spoken with us first.
I’m really sick, but your offices are closed. Do I have to wait until you are open again?
If the clinic is closed and you need medical help, there is a provider on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to address your concerns. Please call us at 734 971-1073 or 734 926-4900 for the pager number of the provider on call. However, if you are experiencing severe illness or pain, or have an urgent medical need, please call 911 or seek assistance at an emergency room or urgent care facility.
What if my designated PCP is not available to see me when I need to be seen?
In most cases, we can schedule you with one of our other providers.
If your insurer or health plan covers the service we provide for you, they will cover it regardless of which of our providers your see.
My prescription is running out and I need it renewed. Do I need to schedule an appointment or can I just call you?
If you need to request a refill, please call our refill request line. We ask that you call one week prior to your last dose. Details are available here.
If you need to have your prescription renewed (you have already received all refills originally ordered by your provider), and you have not had a recent visit to your PCP, you should assume that you will need to schedule one before the prescription ends. We ask that you call to schedule at least 10 days before the end of your prescription.
If we are not able to schedule a visit before your prescription runs out, be sure to discuss that with us. We will take the appropriate action to ensure that you do not go without essential medication.
