What is the payment policy?
All Packard Health patients, insured and uninsured, are expected to take responsibility for their health and for their health care expenses. Payment is due at the time of service, unless other arrangements have been made with the billing office. Please bring a copy of your current insurance card to every appointment. Packard Health accepts cash, checks, Visa and Mastercard.
Charges vary depending on patients' circumstances as follows:
- Packard Health offers a sliding fee scale for low-income, uninsured patients and will work with all patients to set up payment plans that meet their needs. To apply for the sliding fee scale, patients should bring documents that verify that their income is below 200% of the federal poverty level. Patients using the sliding fee scale must meet with Packard Health's patient advocate to determine their eligibility and to apply for any other health coverage plans.
- Packard Health is considered "in network" by most insurance companies. However, it is your responsibility to find out what services are covered and not covered by your insurance. You will be asked to pay for co-pays and the uncovered portion of your bill at the time of service.
- Many HMOs require you to select a doctor from their group as your primary care provider. Before your visit, you must verify with your insurance company that your designated primary care provider is a Packard Health doctor. In some cases you may be able to switch primary care providers on short notice, but this is not always possible so it is best to arrange it in advance.
- If you are uninsured but do not qualify for the sliding fee scale, you are eligible for a 20% discount when you pay your bill in-full at the time of service.

What if there are no appointments available when I am sick?
If you call Packard Health to schedule a same-day appointment and there are none available, ask to speak to the Triage Nurse. She will learn more about your symptoms and consult with the doctors, and adjust their schedules if necessary, to meet your needs. If the clinic is closed and you need medical help, there is always a doctor on-call to address your concerns. Please call the clinic at 734.971.1073 for the pager number of the doctor on call.

How do I cancel an appointment?
If you cannot keep your appointment, please call the clinic to cancel 24 hours in advance, or with as much notice as possible, so that we can offer that time to another patient. Repeated missed appointments, especially without canceling in advance, may affect your health and your relationship with Packard Health. Patients may be charged for missed appointments, or dismissed from the clinic for repeated missed appointments.

How do I get a prescription refilled?
Packard Health's doctors generally recommend that you schedule a follow-up visit before your prescribed medication runs out. However, if you run out of your medication between appointments, please call the clinic. Try to call at least one week before your medication runs out. Your call will be routed to the prescription renewal line, and your doctor will either renew your medication or request that you schedule an appointment first. Once approved, prescriptions are called in to the pharmacy by the end of the next business day. Please call your pharmacy to find out if your medication is ready to be picked up.
It is very important that you do not stop taking your medication without consulting your doctor.
